Epoxy the mounting base to the bilge.

I have a 1,500 GPH stuck to the deck with a glob of RTV.
    7 years and still going...

Normal installation on them is to epoxy the base to the hull like Phebus said.

I just did all 3 of mine with clear silicone adhesive. Wiped the area, scuffed the pump and the gel with sandpaper and stuck them on. If you put just the right amount on, the silicone will squeeze up through the screw holes a little and curl over to hold it good. I thought about epoxy, but if the base broke or whatever it would be tough to remove. Then again, if mine don't hold epoxy it is!

Yeah, it is kinda whatever works... I have only seen them from the boat builders epoxied into place. If silicone will stick, hell that's a lot easier...
