I change the oil in the Boat after every long weekend. Or every other use

depends on the oil used. synthetic costs more, but i think it lasts longer. oh god, did i say that? oh no here we go...ok, lets here it.
and with a 10 qt pan i normally change the oil after every other trip. i dont run it that hard either.
Change it as ofter as you can afford. I change mine every other time out.
so pulling out the dipstick & its still nice and translucent & amber isn't the best bet Check method ? every other Boat ride would get Time consuming & $$$
my trips normally consist of about 4 days of river running. hope that clears things up a bit.
I'm sure a stocker or close to it could go all summer no problem unless you just put tons of hours on it. My dad changes his once a summer and his boat sits in the water all summer long and gets the holy shit run out of it by kids and grand kids. It's a 1980 with a stock sbc that has never been apart.
On a blown engine you need to change it alot more often. They tend to get more fuel past the rings then a NA engine would.
