Thread: Drink holders

I want to add more drink holders to my boat, so I went down to Dana Marine (matches existing), and bought more today. They fit in a 3 5/8" hole, and the hole saws I have found are 3 1/2". Any ideas on the best way to drill the holes? I thought about using the 3 1/2" hole saw, and then using a dremel to enlarge the hole, but the area I am going through is cored and grinding out that much material might not be that easy.

    Two things here.
First, I have a 3 5/8 hole saw I would be happy to lend ya.
But, the hole is likely slightly larger that that as the vinyl will have to go there as well.
I cut mine with a scroll saw.
PM me if you need the hole saw though.

You want to make sure to re-seal this core with a laminate edge or at the very least re-resin it. Otherwise you will be inviting de-lamination at this point, as well as water (and beer and soda for that matter )intrusion at this point.

Can't find one. Been to Home Desperate, and Lowes, no luck. I would love to make it that easy.

Try some short girls with flat heads! Multi-tasking drink holders.

    No vinyl. Fiberglass only.

Try a local tool supply, or McMaster Carr or Grainers, Rutland, IPS, etc online for the off-size hole saws. The home discount stores only have the common size stuff.

try a circle cutter like i have for the drill press. A fixed center bit with a sliding horzontal bar with a cutter. It can be used with a hand held if you haven't been drinking yet
