Do you need some kind of water sealer on the cometic head gaskets for bbc. I am using in jet boat and dont see what will seal the water on the gaskets.

They say no due to the coating.
I am going to put a thin layer of permatex#2 around all of the water openings.

I used a thin layer of permatex with the cometics as well on my test stand's mule motor..a lil-305 cheby ....and it so far has held up under the electic water pumps water pressure.
    Never can be too careful.

I put them on completely dry. The first set I put on dry kept me up all night wondering if they would leak. Not a drop, they really do work dry, even on a blown application with 10+ lbs of boost. I like them.
