Are any of our esteemed ***boat members an inspector?
I am thinking of going into the biz after I retire here soon and am wondering about types of software that is common in the trade and if anyone has any insight into the insurance that is required (errors & omissions????).
Just trying to do some research at this point. Thanks for any info.

I am not one, but I do know a bunch of them. I am an affiliate CREIA member and go to their meetings a lot.
Since you are not in CA try ASHI. I can get you some #'s of some members here if you want...

There are a lot of retired contractors and engineers doing it. They charge $250-$1000 per property and can do a couple a day without much effort.
Getting the agents to refer you is the hard part. And insurance is the expensive part.......
The ones I know make a pretty good living.
