Okay people here it goes.
i need someone to build me a turn key 454 bbc. i need about 550 hp. with 9"1 compression. i need the whole long block to be built. i have oil pan i have valvecovers i have intake i have carb thats. all i have for now. i need long block ready to drop in. if anyone knows who will take this job. please e-mail me at araik2000@earthlink.net.

just wondering, if you are starting almost from scrach why would you not build a 502 or 540. i was just wondering. i figure it could not cost that much more to go with the more reliable hp with the bigger cubes.
you know what. thats acually something to think about. for ex. from the top of head. how much would say a 540 would cost? from scratch that is..

Yeah, what 502 said. You can buy a BBC Eagle or Scat crank with 4.25 stroke for the same price as stock 4.0. Now we're up to a 482. A 502 block is pretty common these days. Throw that crank in it, instant 540! You could build it with 8 to 1 or 9 to 1 pistons and a mild street cam, it will idle at 600 rpm and make 550 horse no problem, at a lower rpm with way more torque. Go big!!

Im building a 540 for $6300. That will include everything from the crank up to the intake manifold.
i have a comp 502 475hp+ low hrs ready to drop in 5k with EVERYTHING. it would not take much bring it up to the 550hp range. 650hp with a light boost procharger. let me know if you have any interest. i also have a set of 500hp heads and intake, with manely sever duty valves and mild porting. just magged and glass beaded. $1,000.00

Infomaniac, moderator for the blower motor section is building me a new 540. Contact him about a custom build. I am going bigger cubic inch and have a procharged 496 that came out of my tunnel. Infomaniac is authorized to part it out. Dart heads,forged crank, aluminum intake,M3 Procharger with 3 blower pulleys and belts, innercooler msd ignition, blower pistons, good H-beam rods etc. Contact him, he can point you in the right direction.
