Has anyone ever had a new defective unit.
Putting a GPS speedo in my boat, have all hook-ups done correctly, mounted on top of the dash, no obstructions to block the signal coming to antenna.
Still not working, troubleshoter guide says antenna problem.
Last resort is to cut the 3 wires coming out of antenna, & recrimp new ends on them, they are really small diameter wire.
Let me know if anyone has experianced thes problems before.

The antenna wire is very delicate. Recently, my GPS stopped working and indicated a disconnected antenna. WTF? I checked the connections, which were OK, then I decided to remove an arbitrary length of antenna wire I had bundled up with zip ties. I reconnected the antenna and it's good to go. The only thing I can figure is that the section of wire I removed had a bad spot in it. Hope this helps...

I had a bad plug for my gps and called CP and they sent me a new on free.
The keeper tab was broken on one of the wires(small one) and wasnt making a good connection.

Make sure the Antenna is plugged completely in the head unit. I thought I had mine all the way in I even got a new one before I realized it hadn't made the "click"

Well finally got around to trying to fix the GPS Antenna today.
Cut about 5 feet of the extra wire & resolder new ends on them.
I did a continuity check on 5ft I cut out, one bad wire that had a bad crimp on it. This is why I solder the ends on it.
Re-hooked up, & now after 3 months & $500 later I was able to read how fast I was being pulled around the shop parking lot on the trailer.
People thought I was nuts riding in my boat on the trailer! Got up to 10MPH.
    Now to the lake tomorrow
