I dont have any pics but your ideas with the prefab boxes is usually what we would do. We just did one the other day and it sounded pretty good. If you have pics of your interior post them and I will try to help you out with some ideas.

I did the same thing to a Sanger flatty.. 2 10's and an amp on the bulkhead, and I made use of prefabbed boxes at an upward like angle mounted to the stringers and seatbase...

    Tiny?

18'6" I'm sticking to it. Low Freeboard no question...

The front's easy, just mount amp and separates on the kick board. Tweeters in the dash. Most low freeboards can handle that...

That's fine if you party in the boat. But if the beach you need stuff facing forward. I did 6x9's on the back of the rear bench seat not good but typical low freeboard...highs muffled, the rest distored by all those weird header and battery box angles, harsh mids reflecing off fiberglass. Then I designed removable speakers mounted on poles facing forward. Better sound but too much hassle. So I finally ditched the rear seat for a custom speaker box. A compromise in pax like a vette, but the sound? Sweet!

Better unshrouded sound than many deep v's. Low freeboard actually helps here. Rear vented bass. Mids and highs up high to rock the beach. Plus space for cooler, brews, amps, cross-overs and a locking padded lid raised with monster garage air shocks triggerd by remote. Handy for laying out the spread...talking chips and dip here c'mon now.
Please ignore the vinyl trim cut on plexiglass mounting flange. Will be black felt soon.
