The mercruiser its only comes in a full hydraulic version so you have to have a hydraulic helm

The ITS was designed so you do not need to put aftermarket Hyd steering on it.
I do not know if it is full hyd all the way up to the steering wheel.
My IMCO setup is dual ram, full hyd all the way to the steering wheel.

You do need to run a hydraulic helm on the new ITS gimbal. It is essentially the same system as the steering on a #6, just not as stout.

If you are buying the boat new or used, & it has ITS allready on it, they come from the factory with full hyd at the helm. I did some checking on this out at the boat dealership this week.
