I have been on my same two batteries for the last two seasons AND they are the same two that came with the boat when i bought it. Lord knows how old they are.....
which are the best and most affordable?
Costco; Optima blue tops

i agree but call the costo first cause not all costos carry blue tops and if they do their out of stock often generlly about $169
Great. Thanks...
If they work and you are having no problems why change them?
I don't want to find out the hard way that they are out of juice!! I did need a jump once last summer.
scared to find out their bad in the middle of a outing
I had two blue tops go BAD! (Separate incidents)
I ditched them for another option that has been working fine.

That happened to me last summer...Boat was tied up at the beach...next morning..nada! I would do it prior to getting in a jam.
Just put in two Group 27's from American Battery, cost about half what the Blue Tops cost, not sure if the Optimas are better but two batteries for the price of one???
I just bought 2 new group 24 costco/kirkland marine deep cycles @46 bucks each.
OK, their not Optimas but for the money if I hate them I'll just return em.
