    My cousin was head saxaphone player for Doc Severson.
    Played on the Johnny Carson show for many years. Not so
    famous but on TV alot.
    Had a freind in school that races motorcycles. He raced speedway
    in England for the U.S. Ranked #1 in the world at one time.
    John Cook.
    His old man built race & boat trailers. You may even have one
    under your boat. Some were built by me. "Cooks trailers"

    Now that you mention Doc Severson, I serviced Ernie Tack's (bass trombone player in the Tonight Show band) trombone a number of times when I was building trombones at F. E. Olds and Son, in Fullerton in the 70s. He would bring it in and I would clean/degrease and service it, usually change the valves and reassemble it while he waited.

    I didn't meet him but I stood right beside Terry Fox when he was on his run and passed through our town. I was in such awe. Funny the thing I remember is I was fascinated to see sweat on his artificial leg ... I was 7 and didn't really understand about amputation and such. I was surprised how much he was sweating too cuz it wasn't that hot of a day. I remember looking up at him and he seemed very tall to me. Childhood memories are funny things.
