Avgas in outboards?

Has anyone used avgas in their outboard? If so what were the results?

I think if you run Merc oil and avgas and you won't have a problem. I just did a search on it

Drags with uncut heads will need straight avgas.If the pockets are opened up then you might be able to mix 50/50 with pump premium.What did the old owner run?Did he say if the heads were stock or not?For oil I would run Merc or Klotz.Try to run Klotz if you can it doesnt gum up or smoke bad.Run it at 40:1.
When you need work done call Lake Land Marine in Havasu.
Do you have egt guages on the boat?

Sorry jrocket, I did not see your post. They have been slightly detuned (at least thats what I was told) but to be safe, I will run straight avgas. I was told to run the merc racing oil, is that a problem? you guys are the greatest, It is tough making a transition from an inboard.

Merc high performance oil is good.i just prefer the Klotz synthetic.doesnt smoke as bad and burns cleaner.Merc at 32:1 and Klotz at 40:1

I ran straight AV in my 2.5's and Mercury actually said it would be better than running regular gas.
