My motor is finally finished and ready to get put back in the boat
They dyno'd it today and here are the numbers
437 HP @4900 rpms
506 tq @4200 rpms
JMS racing engines built the motor and I am very happy with the way I was treated. They answered all off my stupid questions and took the time to explain everything a long the way.
My question is What kind of speed should I expect? My boat is a 76 spectra 18, the pump was just blueprinted and has a new "A" impeller w/ a place diverter

do you have any speed readings vs RPM points from before the new motor? If so we can probably get pretty close with LVs JPC.
Off the cuff, I'm thinking low sixties once you get her dialed in.

Yes it is a mini day, but it is a very light boat (short stringers) The 18 is not built like the 20.

The boat never ran long enough to get any kind of speed readings.
I will concur with Flat Broke... Probably an honest 60+ Good luck!
Only 437hp? What type of engine is it?
iam going to say low 60's as well my spectra 19 ran 90 with 735hp on a "b" impellor and a fully blue printed berk with a droop , ride plate , shoe and loader. i would say 60 is about right
