Thread: Options on fuel fill to tank connector

My boat has 2 round 11 gallon tanks, one on each side. The problem is I can't seem to get the old rubber pieces that connect the tank to the fuel fills tight enough to stop leaks when I top off the tanks. I think that old rubber (with wire in it) hose will not compress enough for a good seal. Anyone knoe of sources for something in 2" ID? Like silicone or......

We have a "softwall" gas fill hose that doesn't have the wire in it. Compresses with a clamp much easier. Also use clamps that have the little hex drive so you can tighten them with a 1/4" ratchet/socket combo rather than screwdriver.

My local Carquest had the 2" rubber(no wire) in stock. $17 a foot.
