Do you tell people you've made friends on the internet?

My wife laughs at me for meeting boardmembers, but she admits that those we've met off the boards have all been cool.
But when people ask how did you meet (insert name here). I find it a little embarrasing to admit I met them on the internet.....

All of our other friends think it's strange when we talk about people from the boards, or going someplace to meet up with "friends" we've never actually "met." We've learned to not tell them. It's our little secret.
