What are your cam specs?
i am running a 496 bbc 8 to 1 pistons unmodified 781 oval port heads and a 6-71 little field blower overdriven with a 52 on bottom and a 51 on top.....i am making 10 lbs of boost at approx. 5000 rpm!!!!!!!!!that doesnt seem right to me,i think that is too much...i was told its my heads not letting me flow enough...what do you guys think??????? p.s. my gauge is a brand new autometer just for info

I think you may have something there, think of the whole package, intake, heads, cam, and exhaust affect the air flow through the motor. Are you running headers? What is the overlap?

my cam is a 292 comp....550 lift 244 duration at 50...yes im running headers, bassett twisties
TXT, according to the charts I have, you are only overdriving the blower 2%, and with 496 cu in's that only comes out to about 2lbs of pressure, for a final comp ratio of about 9.1 . Where are you getting your reading from and is the gauge mechanical or electrical?
mechanical auto meter and its brand new
getting reading off the intake
I'm thinking maybe your cam is installed wrong? Or maybe the heads have the small intake valves and the throat area is restricted? Something is goofy, I only got 10 lbs of boost with a Mike Kuhl 8-71 front discharge blower on a 454 with oval merlins.
Small ports and installed at 99 to 105 intake centerline. Backs the pressure up in the manifold. Just my 2 cents.
