..holy shit, anyone melt a battery before in a cart?? Why did it happen...?...on 1 battery in my 36V Ez Go the terminals completely melted away! :jawdrop:
I was on a long run the other night with 4 of us total on the cart...
there must be a short somewhere..
Could have been due to loose battery cables or corrosion.

What he said. If you upgrade the cable size it helps the battery and controller life.
...a short and loose cables, I will have to check it all out when I replace the battery...thanks.
It's important to keep all connections clean and tight. A long hard run will discharge the battery at a good rate, and discharging causes gassing of the battery which will lead to heat in the loose or dirty terminal end.
If the battery is still a good battery (other then the bad terminals), it can be repaired.
Sounds like you have been down this road. I have once and won't again!
If it melted the terminal it was a loose connection. Heat in a circuit is directly related to resistance. Loose dirty connections create heat.
This thread is worthless without pictures.
