Ty Newton is ss70 made it 3 for 3 on the year with a win this weekend in Chowtown. Rumors has its that the throttle stop was only allowing half throttle the whole weekend :idea:
In Ks Tony put on a another display in the Class Bully to take the win.

I was in the ss70 80 pits I guess that woould be right behind you guys. We were checking your guys carbon fiber deal out sat night nice piece.
Uclahater, Moneypitt I think his motor looked up and the whirlaway failed lucky for him he was coming out of the turn, brand new prop shaft should have snapped.

Yeah me too Jerry. I've never seen anything like that, even without a whirlaway. I'm betting the shaft gave up first, then what ever happened to the motor was secondary to the distruction underneath, and the boat went over, hard to say why the engine is now locked up.....What was the 80 boats shaft failure? just broke off???.......MP

I got second hand info, I know that they put a brand new prop shaft in sat night that Rankin gave them. ss80 prop shaft broke off prop and all. I guess we can give the ss550 camp a call :confused:

I remember seing the same thing happened on a K boat back in the early 80's, the propshaft just gave up and killed the v-drive and took the strut out, happened coming out of a turn, don't remember who it was though, I may have a pic I'll see if I can find it!..

the only way I think the prop shaft could have twisted that bad is if something would have broke in the vdrive or the motor first
No because the power is before the prop shaft, if the motor or v-drive broke the prop shaft just stops, it either gave up or it seized up in the strut which I don't think is likely!..

Gofastracer true i did some editing already, I seen from some of your pics that the ps70 made a pit stop on its way to Burley did you get any close ups :D
