I gave WetWillie a head start on this one yesterday and now I'll post it here. There's a 2003 F-26 on Boat Trader for 75K. 572 engine, Teague Platinum drive and under 20 hours. Sounds like a steal to me. Just thought that some of you with boat show fever might be interested in saving about 50K. And of course if you buy it my finders fee is a ride:D

That boat was mentioned here before. I think the purple and yellow are turning people away. Too bad, it's a good deal.

I agree- its definately the graphic scheme, cuz the price is untouchable. I wonder how much you could pay Dick Vale to repaint it. I'm assuming the owner put down a ton of money, surely they aren't willing to take that big of a hit. Or maybe DCB high prices are just retail--and you can really get them cheap-hehe :D yeah I know, who am I kidding.

Can one of you provide me a link to the boat? It seems my searching skills sometimes aren't so good. Thanks

I don't know how to link to it, but all you have to do is put "DCB" in the manufacturer line of the search page and pull the trigger.

The lower part of that body looks good but the picture is so small even with the pic enlarged. What is that upper part of the body all about????

I wonder If a gel guy could put some life into the paint....maybe and orange fade?? 75k is a steal for that boat

If I were looking for an F26, I would buy it.....Paint or Gel it, and have GT or Gary Taylor breath some quad whipple life into that 572ci....So for 12-15K in Paint, and 12K in Engine, I could have a 125-130mph bad ass F26 for under 110K....Not a bad deal:D

Wife LOVES the lakers. I told her about the colors and she is pretty excited. I told her we could get it as long as I can put "Kobe Style" across the back..

That boat brand new had to be in the neighborhood of 125Plus. So now with 20 hours its 75k.
I give whats wrong with it.
I dont see a 50K loss........

my guess is the owner put down a bunch of $$$$$ up front, and just wants to get out of it. It was originally listed at 85K I believe and is still going down. I'll take it for 65K and then get it repainted.
PS- that thing needs a triple axle trailer:D

do it, We can get a deal on paint through "X-FACTOR" ......Actually not a bad Idea! But as a "garage-Tech" painter...I would think a painted boat would be VERY stressfull! you would be constantly worried about rock chips from trailering, Docks, sandy feet, ect. It could look awesome, but not very user friendly. I did paint a friends boat about 7 years ago, It stills looks good, But it doesnt hold up like gell....and a side note, EXPECT to spend some outrageous dollars to paint something that large! I already have 1000.00 into the paint for the new golfcart and I haven't even started clearing yet! House of kolor is blinging dollars!

Actually, I like the Lakers, and for that price you can't beat it. I would buy it and leave the colors....hop up the motor (Quad)...and run that way...
Heck when you get ready to sell, you won't lose your ass, the other guy already did.....and maybe Yellow and Purple will back in style by the time you get ready to sell it....all you need is a couple of Laker Championships and everyone will be pimping gold and purple again.:D

My Cig is painted with Imron, and it is some very hardy stuff. A lot of boats not built on the west coast are painted, and they hold up fine.
If I was going to buy a west Coast boat again I would order it in white and then have it painted. IMO you can do much more with paint, and it looks better.

I don't know, but I don't remember Teague marketing a 572 engine package....I thought it might be a 572 built by somebody that was not a big name.

I don't think they make a 572 either. How could that guy smoke you MB2? He has one less engine and three feet more boat!! Time to take them wackas off and send em to the hop-up-shop! What is he running for power to turn that #6?

If I recall correctly, that is a QuadRotor whippled motor that is the carb version. Not sure who made it, but I believe it was around 1200 HP total. This info is probably way outdated, just what I remember reading when they were building the boat.

Quad with 1300hp, they were building two at the same time with the same motor package

110 Sounds on the low side......1300hp in that that 29 hull should be doing atleast 120 id think. Didnt the twin 575 do in the 130's? All I know is 90 is fast e-nuf in mine;)

1200 or 1300HP teague carb quad whippled....yes, he walked away from me when we were going along together at 95, and I don't think he was putting the sticks down either..
